Roots and Wonder: An Active Hope Workshop
The Roots and Wonder workshop is an Active Hope journey that brings participants from their place in overwhelm, powerlessness, or despair into grounded reconnection. Despair, grief, anger, and overwhelm are natural responses to the suffering, destruction, and over-consumption of the present day. Using principles from The Work That Reconnects, this two-part offering provides tools for finding clarity, hope, and purpose. Each session includes guided practices, open sharing, and a space to listen deeply. This is an invitation to reconnect: to root back into the natural world, to remember the wonder of it all, to recognize the work that only you are capable of doing.
Why Join This Workshop?
The Workshop Process:
This workshop follows the four stages of the Active Hope Spiral.
Session 1:
Coming from Gratitude: We begin by grounding ourselves in what we feel connected to and thankful for, and what gives us strength to face challenging topics.
Honoring the Pain: We acknowledge and embrace challenging feelings: grief, anger, and despair about the suffering of our fellow beings and the destruction of the natural world.
Session 2:
Seeing with New and Ancient Eyes: We recognize our deep interconnectedness with all life, and recognize that strong emotions are a natural and healthy response stemming from our compassion, connectedness, and belonging.
Going Forth: We integrate our learnings, and engage in actions that contribute to the well-being of the world - actions guided by each individual's unique talents and circumstance.
